Paducah on my Mind

Easter Seals Paintings Art Show

The Art Program at Easter Seals Western Kentucky (ESWKY) provides students and individuals with disabilities the opportunity to participate in art classes, collaborate with local artists, and exhibit their work in the community.  Yeiser Art Center (YAC) is proud to partner with the ESWKY to present an exhibition of paintings created through the program.

An Easter Seals Paintings Art Show will run February 10 - March 31 in the lobby of the US Bank building, which is located at 333 Broadway in Paducah. The exhibition will be open from 9am - 4pm Monday-Thursday, and 9am-5pm on Fridays.

On display will be two paintings, Paducah on My Mind and Kentucky State of Mind

Paducah on my Mind was clearly inspired by the city of Paducah Kentucky and was painted to be enjoyed by everyone within the community. Each letter is painted with a Paducah location, which artists selected in order to represent their particular connection to the city.

Kentucky State of Mind was inspired by everything that makes the state of Kentucky unique, and was painted collaboratively by adults and children. Children at ESWKY’s Child Development Center created each of the Kentucky themed objects, which were then finished by adults at ESWKY’s Adult Services Center and added to the large painting.

The paintings will be auctioned off during ESWKY’s annual HeArt & Soul Art Celebration on Friday June 1st, 2018. Heart & Soul is an evening of food and entertainment with silent and live art auctions. Proceeds from the auction, as well as print and t-shirt sales go directly back to the ESWKY Art Program.

Participants in the program include:
