Helping Feed Our Community

One in four Kentucky children lacks access to healthy meals. Many families struggle to afford three meals a day. These statistics drive local artist Michael Terra to coordinate the Empty Bowls Project of Paducah. Since its inception in 2009, the Project has raised nearly $150,000 for Paducah’s Community Kitchen. iLove It when filling my bowl means I’m helping others.

A Sweetheart Serenade

It’s Valentine’s Day, and love is all around. Graves County High School is hosting a new event honoring St. Valentine while showcasing some of the amazingly talented students in their Arts department. iLove It when I can be surrounded by musical love!

Hoops for Homes

“Housing is absolutely essential to human flourishing. Without stable shelter, it all falls apart.” That’s a quote from Matthew Desmond, a nationally known American sociologist. With that idea firmly in mind, the Paducah-McCracken County Habitat for Humanity is hosting a “Hoops for Homes”, 3 on 3 basketball tournament. This fun charity event is raising money to build affordable homes for the community. iLove It when I can play hoops to help build homes!

The Yeiser Art Center is celebrating 60 years this week- and they’re doing it in a big way! Support your favorite, local art center by attending their “60 Years of YAC” celebration and get a piece of history for yourself. Supporting the arts in a black tie and tennis shoes… iLove It!

Fly Like An Eagle!

The bald eagle has been the national emblem of the United States since 1782 and a spiritual symbol for native people for far longer than that. Once endangered by hunting and pesticides, bald eagles have flourished under protection. A unique Kentucky State Park tradition – Eagle Watch Weekends – will be offered once again in January and February 2017. iLove It!
