The Paducah Symphony Orchestra always knows how to put on a great event. Join them on Saturday, June 17 for the Beat Beethoven 5K run and walk and the PA*BREW*CAH Beer Fest.
This popular fundraiser will take place from Noon - 5 pm, in the floodwall parking lot of historic Downtown Paducah. This year marks the second annual PA*BREW*CAH, and organizers have increased the number of breweries represented to 25. It’s a fantastic day where you can sample many regional beers including brand new creations to taste before they are officially released. Some of the beers that will be on tap are special releases and they will be a secret until the day of the event.
You can sample beers from as far away as California and New York, but the majority will be from regional cities such as Louisville, Lexington, and St. Louis. Of course there will be beer from right here in Paducah! Taste Bells, Blue Stallion Brewing, Dry Ground Brewing, Ethereal Brewing, Lagunitas, Leinenkugel's, Mile-Wide, Paducah Beer Werks, Perrylodgic Brewing, Sam Adams, West Sixth Brewing, Schlafly, Rhinegeist, White Squirrel Brewery and more! Check the PA*BREW*CAH website for all of the breweries featured at this year’s festival.
Of course there will be live music to enjoy while you drink including great local bands such as Leonard the Band and the Alonzo Pennington Band, as well as Great Peacock from Nashville.
PA*BREW*CAH Beer Fest will be on the app Untappd. This will give beer lovers the ability to check in their beers as they try them, and have full access to information about the breweries and individual beers featured at the festival. Attendees will receive a commemorative beer glass and a beer punch card good for 10 four-ounce samples of beer - all for only $25. You can buy food on site from one of the many food vendors.
Tickets are available for $25 in advance or $30 the day of the event – so buy them now! Attendees are encouraged to bring a designated driver with them. The DD’s will be allowed in the event free of charge, but will not be served any alcoholic beverages. (Don’t worry - they’ve got good music to listen to, and food to eat - they’ll be fine!)
To purchase your ticket, visit PaBREWcah.org, go to the PSO office at 222 Kentucky Ave, or visit Roof Brothers Wine & Spirits, Wagner Wine & Spirits, or the Paducah Cigar Company. For more information, contact Paducah Symphony Orchestra at 270.444.0065.
Beethoven is known for his complex melodies, but less so as a dedicated runner! As part of the beer fest this year, the PSO is incorporating its signature Beat Beethoven 5K run and walk. This exciting race is set to the classical tunes of Beethoven. And of course, Beethoven himself will be on hand to set the tone for the event – and so you can literally beat him!
Any runner who finishes before Beethoven will receive a free 16 ounce beer of your choice at PA*BREW*CAH Beer Fest with the purchase of a ticket. Those under 21 will receive a free Root Beer at the end of the race. Entry to the 5K Run/Walk is just $30 for Pre-registration (prior to June 9), and $35 after that and on the day of the event. Those who pre-registered before May 29 will be guaranteed a race shirt.
The Beat Beethoven race will begin at 8am, before the beer fest, with registration starting at 6:30am. The course will start and end at the intersection of Water Street and Jefferson Street in Downtown Paducah. Prizes will be awarded and runners are grouped by age: 12-16, 16-20, 21-30, 31-40, 41-50, 51-60, 61 & up.
You can register at the PSO office and on line at pabrewcah.com/BeatBeethoven.
