The Purchase Players would like to invite everyone in the Purchase area to their 40th Anniversary Celebration. On January 13th at 6 pm. they will open their doors to the public. This is a celebration to honor their volunteers, donors, and the great citizens of the western Kentucky for their continued support of the Purchase Players and their mission.

Throughout the night organizers will be honoring the people and institutions that have been instrumental in the past 40 years of the Purchase Players. They will also be delivering a preview of the exciting 2018 season. Hors d'oeuvres will be served and a cash bar will be available.

The 40th season kicks off on February 10 with The Owl and the Pussycat – a dinner Theater

In a San Francisco loft, aspiring author Felix focuses his binoculars on a prostitute plying her trade. He complains to the landlord, has her evicted, and finds trouble pounding on his door in the form of Doris, not a prostitute, but an aspiring “model and actress, thank you very much.” She figures he owes her a bed for the night, an arrangement that leads to hilarity. Alan Alda and Diana Sands took the roles on Broadway, George Segal and Barbra Streisand on film.

Join the Savannah Sipping Society - April 20  - 22

In this delightful, laugh-a-minute comedy, four unique Southern women, all needing to escape the sameness of their day-to-day routines, are drawn together by Fate - and an impromptu happy hour - and decide it’s high time to reclaim the enthusiasm for life they’ve lost through the years.

Footloose: The Musical - July 27 - 29, & August 3 – 5

One of the most explosive movie musicals in recent memory bursts onto the live stage with exhilarating results. The heartfelt story that emerges is of a father longing for the son he lost and of a young man aching for the father who walked out on him.

To the rockin' rhythm of its Oscar and Tony-nominated top 40 score (the soundtrack album reached number one on the Billboard charts and has sold over 15 million copies!) and augmented with dynamic new songs for the stage musical, FOOTLOOSE celebrates the wisdom of listening to young people, guiding them with a warm heart and an open mind.

The Haunting of Hill House - October 5 - 7

Cut off from the outside world by its remote location and shunned by all who know its forbidding and sinister reputation, Hill House has remained empty and silent except for the daily visits of its grumbling caretaker, Mrs. Dudley.

Led by the learned Dr. Montague, who is conducting research in supernatural phenomena, visitors come to probe the secrets of the old house and to draw forth the mysterious powers that it is alleged to possess—powers which have brought madness and death to those who have lived therein in the past.

Season’s Greetings - December 7 - 9

Half a dozen friends and relatives are celebrating Christmas with Neville and Belinda. Various children are also there and, though unseen, their presence is always felt. Petty squabbles break out and some not so petty.

The arrival of Clive, a young writer, leads to what momentarily appears to be a tragedy: Clive is shot by trigger happy Harvey who thinks he is a burglar. Hilarious highlights include a chaotically incompetent puppet show and a midnight love scene that sets off a fearful din among mechanical Christmas toys.
