Market House Theatre

On the 50th Anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr's death Market House Theatre presents a riveting re-imagination of events the night before the assassination of civil rights leader. On April 3, 1968, an exhausted Dr. King retires to his room at the Lorraine Motel while a storm rages outside. When a mysterious stranger arrives, he doesn't’t know if she is an FBI informant, the devil, or an angel. Dr. King is forced to confront his destiny and his legacy to his people. This play will challenge you and hopefully create a dialogue that will last long after you have left the theatre.

A NOTE FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR MICHAEL COCHRAN   We have never done a play like this on our stage before. But the script was so compelling and the timing of the 50th anniversary of MLK's death in 2018 and for us to produce this during January 2018 which celebrates his life, was so important that we believed we would be remiss if we didn't produce this play.  This play contains R rated language.  We understand that some audience members may be offended by this language and this may not be a play they wish to see.  However at this time in our country, MLK and his message seem to be needed now more than ever.  Audience ages are for High School and up with parental guidance suggested.*
