Our area holds many art related events each year but unfortunately, attendance at these performances, shows and festivals does not often reflect the full diversity of western Kentucky. The goal of Essential Vibes is to provide an opportunity for some of our local female performers, who serve a diverse demographic to perform. By bringing them to the Yeiser Art Center organizers hope to share their talents with more of our community.

Amanda Joyce, Ammiel Russell, and Monyette Jihan Bolen

Amanda was born and raised in Chicago, but now calls Paducah home. Her interest in the arts began when she was very young. She sang her first solo in church with “The Lord’s Prayer.” She believes that singing allows everyone to be their unique selves. She describes her sound as sensual, emotional, and genuine - it comes from the heart.

Ammiel is from southern Illinois. She too found her interest in the arts develop when she was young when she started paying attention to her dad singing around the house. She loves the emotions evoked by singing and listening to others sing. She loves all genres of music but gravitates towards soul and R&B.

Monyette is from Paducah. As with the other two artist, Monyette’s love of the arts began as a small child. She believe that expression is the most essential aspect of the arts. She describes her music as very eclectic like a melting pot.
