iLove the Arts

Members of the Yeiser Art Center will be showing off their artistic talents this weekend at the YAC annual Members’ Show. It’s a great opportunity to see some spectacular art from our area’s most revered creators. The show will feature quilters, painters, sculptors, poets, performers, video artists and much more. Art from our area all in one place - iLove The Arts!

Graves County High School is getting ready for their annual Holiday event, the Candy Cane Classic. It features bands, choirs, drama and art - all from the school’s talented students. The event is sure to get everyone in the Holiday spirit. iLove the Arts all wrapped up in the spirit of the season.

The National Quilt Museum is getting ready to host HERstory Quilts. This special quilt exhibit includes the work of many fabric artists from seven countries.They used fabric, thread, paint, and embellishments to honor strong women – some well-known, some not so much — women who fought for the right to vote, made discoveries, and opened new careers for women. iLoveTheArts, especially when they honor women!

Graves County High School Musical Theatre program presents: The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. This beloved classic will be brought to life on the stage of the Independence Bank Performing Arts Center on Friday and Saturday. iLove The Arts while traveling down the yellow brick road!

Marilyn Belford is an award-winning quilter, well-known for her realistic fabric portraits and art quilts. She comes to the quilting community after a long, successful career in the art world. The National Quilt Museum will be hosting Mythical Quilts:  The Art of Marilyn Belford through November 13. Quilted portraits full of emotion - iLove The Arts!

The Icehouse Gallery in Mayfield once again closes out the year with Impressions 2018. This is their annual juried exhibition that is open to visual artists working in Kentucky and the surrounding states. The exhibition includes entries from western Kentucky and western Tennessee - paintings, drawings, sculpture and photographs. iLove The Arts all year long!

The theatre department at McCracken County High School has already developed a reputation for its amazing productions.Their fall offering is Peter/Wendy by Jeremy Bloom. In this lyrical, atmospheric interpretation of Peter Pan, the author strips the familiar story down to its emotional essence. iLove The Arts when “all you need is faith, trust and a little bit of pixie dust!”
