The Friends of McCracken County Library always put on a stupendous Summer Book Sale. It’s huge and will practically fill up the gymnasium of St. Paul Lutheran Church Gym! You can come to browse and buy on Friday, July 20, from 9am - 7pm and again Saturday, July 21, from 9am - 1pm.

The sale is located at 21st and Kentucky Avenue in Paducah and will feature books, audiobooks, DVDs and other audiovisual material, as well as special collections items - all for super low prices. All genres of fiction and nonfiction are represented, so there's a little something for everyone.

Books for $1

Most of the hardback and trade edition books will sell for $1 each, and many paperback books will be offered at 50 cents. The media materials are also priced at rock bottom prices.

This semi-annual used book sale is a Friends of the McCracken County Public Library fundraiser. The proceeds after expenses are donated to the library in support of collection and program development.

Friends of a Friend

The Friends of the Library organization shares a common concern for the Library's active expansion and participation in community life and a conviction that good library service is important to everyone. They help to create public support of the Library, work to intensify community awareness and use of the Library, encourage gifts, memorials and endowments, and sponsor programs designed to add to the cultural life of the community.

Food Too!

Back by popular demand, the St. Paul Lutheran Church congregation will conduct a bake sale to support church mission trips. The ladies from the church will be selling homemade desserts, sandwiches, Chex mix, breads, and much more! iList heard that the peanut brittle is to die for!

The proceeds from the bake sales have been donated to Hope Unlimited, Ladies Living Free, Community Kitchen, Merryman House, and Starfish Orphanage in the past. The Lutheran district organization also puts together care packages including hygiene items, blankets, etc. They send these care packages to third world countries for distribution.
