Beacon Dragway, located at 4460 Shemwell Lane in Paducah, is hosting its 9th annual Ratorbest on October 13. The event feature rods, cars, bikes and more - all makes, years and models will be represented. This family friendly event will include a swap meet, pin-up contest, racing, burnout competitions, a ladies pavilion, cruising, food and more! Proceeds benefit Marshall County Exceptional Center for Special Needs Adults.
The weekend’s festivities kick off on Thursday, October 11 with a ‘Pre-Cruise In’ at the Calvert City Drive-In. (They will be showing “Grease” for one night.) It starts at approximately 7:30 pm. Come check out the cars, great music, delicious food and surprises! Ratoberfest T’s and discounted armbands will be on sale. The drive-in opens at 4:30 pm. The cost is $8 per person; children under 12 are free.
On Friday October 12 campers can arrive and setup. This is also the date for the vendor swap meet set-up and "The Ladies Room" vendor booths setup.
On Saturday October 13, the gates open at 7 am for entry, registration, and continued vendor setup. Admission will be $10 per person – one flat entry fee whether you are showing a car, acting as a vendor, or supporting the event as a spectator, or volunteer. Once again, children 12 and under are free admission.
There will be open cruising down and around track from 7-10 am and Flag Drags from 11 am - 2 pm. The Pin-up Contest begins at 2 pm, but you may register up until 1:45 pm on the day of the event. Cash prizes, awards, and entry prizes will be awarded.
Of course they’ll be burnouts and even a burnout competition after the Pin-up Contest with the Ratoberfest Event Awards Ceremony to follow.
“The Ladies Room” will be open all day with room to shop, room to talk, and room to rest at Ratoberfest. Lots of great food vendors, a silent auction and fun – all for a great cause!
