The Paws-ta Dinner & Auction will take place on Saturday, February 23, at First United Methodist Church in Benton. Dinner will be served from 4:30 - 7:00 pm, with a silent auction and dessert auction lasting until 6:15 pm and a live auction being held throughout the night* (*schedule will be posted on the Humane Society Facebook page prior to the night of the event.). There will be many fantastic items to bid on in all the auctions.

A member of their board is preparing all the sauces - all will be homemade and are from an authentic family recipe. You can design your own dinner with a choice of meatballs or grilled chicken. The full menu will include: salad, pasta, meat sauce, marinara sauce, Alfredo sauce and homemade desserts – yum!

Dinner will be just $10 for adults, and $5 for kids (10 and under). Tickets can be purchased at the door the night of the event. For more information, please email the Humane Society at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

Human Society of Marshall County

This is by far their largest fundraiser of the year for the Human Society of Marshall County. It’s their fifth year for Sweetie Paws which typically brings in almost $6,000. They have smaller events throughout the year including a pancake breakfast and a trivia night and “Jingle Tails”, where they take Christmas pictures of families and animals, have vendors set up and an online auction.

iSupportThey also sponsor “Art with Heart”, another successful online auction. In addition to all this, they have some smaller events such as rebate nights and adoption drives.

Event organizer and Board VP, Cindy Hershey stated, “This is a huge event for us, because of the support of our community, we’ve been able to care and love for so many dogs and cats. We don’t receive any local or government funding, so please come out and enjoy a homemade Italian dinner and help us help the animals!”

Sponsors for the event are Ashland Speciality Chemicals CFSB, Wacker, Life Associates, Parkway Chrysler, and Marshall County Attorney Jason Darnall.
