A Harry Potter Themed party @ MHT
There is great anticipation amongst local “Potterheads” about the upcoming Wizard’s Ball. It is being held August 4, 2018 from 7 pm – 10 pm in Market House Theatre’s (MHT) Multi-Use Building which is at 200 Kentucky Avenue in down town Paducah. Proceeds from The Wizard’s Ball will qualify for matching funds through the 2018 Fred Paxton Challenge for Charities.
This is a grown-up Harry Potter evening and participants must be 18 or older to attend. Dress up as your favorite wizard or muggle, and enter the costume contest. Enjoy the Three Broomsticks cash bar, have a glass of Butter Beer, play table-top Quidditch, visit Professor Trelawney to have your tea leaves read and have your official picture made in the Hogwarts photo booth. You’re even invited to bring in your favorite themed appetizer to show off and share!
As you enter the ball, you will be sorted into your House and will compete throughout the night for the House Cup 2018. Harry Potter trivia, table-top Quidditch and the costume contest are some of the ways to earn points for your House.
Dance the night away with Chad Lewis from N the Mix DJ Service, practice your charms in the Defense Against the Dark Arts Class, and watch a live magic performance by Todd Duff, professional sleight of hand artist. Duff will be performing at 9 pm and throughout the night.
Individual tickets are $35 and reserved tables of eight are $400. Call the MHT Box Office at 270.444.6828 to reserve your tickets and pre-order your custom-crafted wands for only $15 each! Sure to complete any wizard costume, these wands will assist you in casting spells during the Defense Against the Dark Arts class. You may also purchase tickets at MarketHouseTheatre.org.
Market House Theatre:
Market House Theatre had its beginning in 1963 when a small acting troupe had the vision to transform the 1905 public market house into a theatre. Since then, the Theatre has seen phenomenal growth and draws audiences from across the region. The mission of the Market House Theatre is to provide a “hands on” artistic experience for people of all ages with arts education classes and the production of plays. The organization brings theatre into the schools as a teaching tool for math, science, social studies, history and literacy. Market House Theatre is also committed to providing a safe place to explore difficult social issues that affect the community through the performance of plays and audience "talk back" conversations.
